Katlin is a certified master groomer through Pets Icon Grooming Academy and a certificated Veterinarian Technical assistant.
She has been grooming professionally since 2012, and has been competing in handstrip since 2017.
Most recently, Katlin was awarded #1st place in Mastergroom UK 2021 intermediate hand strip, And #3 in Mastergroom Canada 2019.
Katlin started her career in Vet Clinics as a certified Veterinarian Technical Assistant, working in emergency, exotics, and general practice for 8 years.
Combined, Katlin has 15 years of experience working with pets in care and grooming.

Most Terrier Breeds and Wirecoated breeds are required to be hand stripped. If you are unsure you can see the full list of breeds here, or join the handstrip facebook group and post a picture of your dog to receive grooming advice.
This book is an excellent reference guide, filled with all of my best tips and tricks.
While our guidebook covers all the basics – If you have never handstripped before then I recommend watching some videos or contacting a groomer for a few quick lessons on proper hand movements.

To get started with handstripping you’ll need a few essential tools.
It’s possible to handstrip with just using your hands, but I highly recommend beginner and intermediate groomers make use of specific tools.
I recommend a set of stripping knives, carding knife, chalk, and a rake. We go over these in detail in the course.
Think of these as a valuable investment for saving time and providing the best possible results.
If you’re just grooming your pet at home you can handstrip on the couch, floor, bed, or wherever is comfortable. It will leave behind some hair so I recommend laying down a blanket or towel first. Or try hand stripping outdoors if it’s nice out.
